Consciousness
The Three Stages
There are three stages
of conscientiousness. Sleep, dream, and alert. Between sleep and alert stages
of mind there is a transient transitional stage too- a fourth stage.
When you wake up you
are in this fourth stage; gradually you come to the alert stage. Indulge yourself
in a thoughtful thinking process immediately after you wake up.
Sit in the bed folding
your leg akin to an easy lotus pose. Continue your thinking, and thinking about
your own thinking, hearing, listening and experiencing. You have heard the
usual cock-a-doodle-doo, a cooing of the cuckoo, chirping of the birds, song
form the nearby temple or things of that sort. Think about those things that
greeted at the break of that day.
If you like to,
indulge in a deep prayer. Look at your palms, rub it feel the warmth, think of
the day ahead. Say to yourself you are blessed with one more day on earth.
Resolve that you will
work as best as you can on that day and be convinced that you’ll be happy with
whatever outcome follows. Even then we will work as hard and intelligently as
possible. We will be looking forward to a brighter day.
YOGA of course is good to achieve this end. We
will start physical preparations for the day after this mental warm up.
